Big Wins on Social

If you know me at all, you probably know that I’m not big into social media. It’s just not my thing. I do LinkedIn because it’s a great place to convince my clients to say super nice things about me via written endorsements (wink, nudge), but beyond that, I’m out.

Now, before you jump down my virtual throat, I should say that I 100% acknowledge and appreciate the potential of social media to do great things for humanity and for brands. I have no qualms working on ideas that will end up splashed all over Insta, Facebook and Twitter, and I love watching my clients connect with fans by the thousands.

So, in support of some recent social buzz, I thought I’d give a nod to a couple of my client brands who are doing great work on these modern channels: Bundle Organics and Love Grown.

Congrats to the entire team at Bundle Organics and 1908 Brands for the recent recognition of our Lemon Ginger Fizzy Drink as a Baby Maternity Magazine Top Choice for 2019. This particular product is one of Bundle co-founder and celebrity influencer Whitney Port’s personal favorites: “Inspired by Whitney’s cravings for ginger ale during her pregnancy, this refreshing fizzy drink serves up bright, bubbly effervescence without the downsides of soda. It’s crisp, clean and delightfully hydrating.” (Bundle website copy)

And mad props to the passionate and protein-powered Love Grown team for their upcoming rebrand (announced by our brilliant client Dagny on LinkedIn last week). I was honored to partner with design guru Faven Creative to create a new positioning, tagline, tone of voice and to write all the new packaging copy for this growing breakfast brand. Keep your eyes peeled for our epic milk waves appearing on store shelves VERY soon, and there’s more to come on this exciting project once it’s live. #GrowingBetterBiteByBite

Click to Snack.

How old were you when you realized that the very best snacks are made exclusively by nature? I’ll tell you: you were today years old. Because I’m here, right now, telling you.

Made In Nature is one of my longest running clients (we’ve been in creative cahoots for about 7 years now), and I’ve had a blast giving this previously sleepy organic brand a loud and proud tone of voice. We’ve been through a full rebrand together, new websites, countless campaigns and promotions, and a top-to-bottom packaging rework of the brand’s 50+ products. I’m tired just reminiscing about it…

But enough with the history lesson, let’s talk about today. Recently, Made In Nature came to me with the challenge to write a whoooooooole bunch of Facebook and banner ads to support their online advertising initiatives. They had to be punchy. They had to be pointed. And most of all, they had to get people clicking. Below is a taste of the delicious results, with major props to the gang at Urban Canvas for their undoubtable design brilliance. Looking snappy, MiN.

Want to Hang With Whit?

Seriously, guys. This is a cool one. I was first introduced to Whitney Port when I used to watch her on MTV’s The Hills, and then later, her spinoff The City. I legitimately remember telling my husband more than once that “I like Whitney best. Actually, she’s the only one I like. She seems like a nice person.”

Fast-forward ten years to 2018 when my clients at 1908 Brands acquired Bundle Organics™, the bomb-diggity motherhood nutrition brand co-founded by — you guessed it — Whitney Port. I attempted to muffle my squeals of excitement, and I’m only half-ashamed to admit that I only half-succeeded. I. Was. PUMPED.

For the past year, it’s been a privilege to work with Whitney on the Bundle Organics brand, from positioning and tagline (#MomAsYouAre) to packaging, web stuff and events. And now, I can honestly report that she is just as lovely, if not lovelier, than I expected. As normal folk, we always want celebrities to be good people, don’t we? And it’s such a bummer when you hear those stories about your favorites being jerks. But Whitney is an absolute pro and a delight to work with, so I was beyond honored when she asked me to help script the trailer and promo messaging for her new podcast, With Whit.

On the show, Whitney will be talking to a range of fascinating people, including close friends and family who have known and loved her for decades and experts in the fields of fashion, beauty, motherhood, wellness, relationships and more. The conversations will be “real, raw and sometimes ridiculous,” (I wrote that part for the trailer, hehe), so you can bet it’s going to be some gooooood listenin’.

The first two episodes of With Whit post next week on May 21, so make sure to listen to the trailer and subscribe on Apple Podcasts (or wherever you get your podcasts) so you don’t miss a minute of the fun. Many thanks to Whitney for trusting me to help out on your passion project, and I can’t wait for The Hills New Beginnings to premiere on MTV this June. You can bet your Hollywood butt I’ll be watching.

Veggies Like WHOA.

Crunch now, or forever hold your carrots and hummus because never have you ever snacked veggies like this. Made In Nature’s new crazy crunchy, madly munchy Veggie Pops are debatably the best healthy snack you can get your hungry hands on, and now they’ve officially been unleashed into the wild.

Made In Nature Veggie Pops are zesty, oven-crisped snack bites made with nothing but whole foods like kale, carrots, chickpeas, broccoli, almonds and spices. They’re not puffed, faked or fried and come in three organically snacky flavors you won’t believe are 100% plant-based and dairy-free with names like ‘Sour Cream’ & Onion, Broccoli Chedda and Salt & Pepper.

I had the pleasure to creative direct and write this explosive campaign-slash-sampling-program for the Veggie Pops product launch, and the freebies are going fast. Like, too fast. Like, we’ve been hitting our daily limit in mere minutes, so our ads must be working…

Feeling the hunger? Enter the giveaway, buy them straight-up at or head to a local retailer to get your veggie fix in awesomely snackable fashion. Sorry, baby carrots. You’re cute, but 7g of plant-based protein, 4g of fiber and boldly savory flavors baked into bite-sized balls are even cuter.

ADDENDUM: Guys! Hey, guys! We were on the Today Show, guys!

Pact: The Coolest Brand to Lust After

The new Pact has a new website, and you can bet your organic cotton thong that I had a blast writing it in our cheeky new tone of voice. Ha! Thong? Cheeky?! I’m funny, trust me.

Now, I know I’ve already gushed about the Pact rebrand, but I just can’t help myself. So please, just keep reading and don’t ask questions.

The awesome online refresh features our new look, new logo, new copy and will continue to evolve with updates to the product pages and new earth-friendly styles you’ll crave in every color. The new homepage hits hard above the fold with an in-your-face brand message and then draws inspiration from today’s scroll-happy Insta-culture down below. Then the About page tells our story with energy, uplifting wit and the promises that Pact keeps for its customers and the product pages have poppy infusions of our cute-meets-conscious personality. I hope you click-love it as much as we do 🙂

What’s more, Pact Apparel is leaning hard into content lately (like good, responsible marketers), so we’re writing informative, engaging articles that are relevant to our ‘Pact peeps.’ Here’s a glimpse, plus a sampling of my personal favorite article so far…

5 Ways Organic Cotton Can Protect Your Lady Parts

Girls, let’s get real. We all know how important it is to keep your lady business (aka vagina) in good health, and the first line of defense is your undies. These days, you can’t fling a g-string without hitting a brand that promises to be the best, so we took a look at why so many women choose organic cotton brands like Pact Apparel to protect their nethers.

Pact Is Only Available in Green.

Every day is Earth Day at Pact because organic is the only language they know. From organic undies that make your booty every shade of ethical to organic cotton tees that prove how everyone looks in “green,” this apparel company (and one of the best clients EVER) is putting eco-conscious clothing on the map. You know…where it should be.

We created this clever “Green Is Our Only Color” campaign to promote this year’s Earth Week festivities on social media. We’re also sending out some big love via email to give super fans an planet-sized discount to celebrate the occasion. Check it out.

Real Flavor Can’t Be Tamed.

Calling all snack-seeking Seattleites! Prepare to snack like animals because Made In Nature is giving away a swarm of free organic Supernsnacks in your area (and your area ONLY). So when nature calls via social media and online banners, I hope you’ll answer and get signed up for your own tempting freebie. Click image to enlarge.

This playful #TakeItFromNature promotion is designed to help every hungry Seattle snacker feed their wild side with legit organic goodness—assuming it doesn’t get intercepted by hungry animals on the way. I got to write the landing page copy as well as all associated materials, including the branded card that comes with each shipment. Signed, snacked, delivered.

Triple Duty: Crunches + Sun + Horizon.

Okay, so I have a few things I wanted to tell you guys. All are kinda time-sensitive, so in the interest of saving your eyeballs (and my fast-typing fingers) some valuable minutes, I’m triple-timing this blog.

I named it. I copywrote it. And you stand to win a certified motherlode of fitness swag and organic snacks from my client Made In Nature. It’s Crunch Time (abdominal and mouth crunches…get it?) now through June 17, 2016, and you can click the image below to enter. Fair warning: the link’s gonna break once the sweeps is over, so don’t get mad at me when it does. Get mad at yo’self, foo.

Alicia from Faven Creative was all, “Erin, we totally have to do this project for Namaste Solar together.” And then I was all, “Heck yes, we do!” And then we did. So if you live in the Denver/Boulder area, keep your eyes peeled for this bad boy. The “Let’s Soak Up Some Sun” headline and beachy design brightens up the solar energy space and makes Namaste top-of-mind.

I was lucky enough to help out on some packaging positioning work for Horizon Organic alongside the awesome internal team at WhiteWave Foods. I spotted these side-by-sides at Sprouts this weekend and couldn’t resist sharing. In the image below: old packaging on the left, new on the right. Love Happy the Cow peeking up from behind the milk glass.

The new barn-board look will be working its way across the brand portfolio, including milk, yogurt, cheese, eggs, butter, mac & cheese, fruit snacks, super squeeze and more.

Pumpkin Bread and #PumpkinPics.

Fall is in the air, which means pumpkin is edging it’s big orange butt into practically everything. Lattes, lipsticks (yes, really), cereal, syrups, you name it. And now, a whole new kind of pumpkin bread.

Introducing the first-ever limited-edition offering from Rudi’s Organic Bakery: soft and scrumptious Pumpkin Sandwich Bread. It’s not overly sweet like the frosted kind you’ll find at Starbucks, and it’s not your same old boring blah slices. So basically, Rudi’s cracked the code in creating the perfect pumpkin product in a sea of un-gourd-ly misses. Way to go, bakers.

It’s been a great experience working on the launch for this new product with Vermilion Design + Digital. I got to work on the web copy, online ads and help create a Facebook sweepstakes called #PumpkinPics. Want to enter? It’s live through November 6, 2015 and you could win a brand new knife set (perfect for carving pumpkins).

Bloggin’ for Beforeplay.

Let me just say this: if my browser history were to ever become public after writing a bunch of blogs for, I would look like one twisted S.O.B.

But you know what, I’m not ashamed. has made incredible strides helping Colorado reduce it’s rate of unintended pregnancies and promote sexual health, and I’m as proud as a peacock to have played a role in that. I guess googling everything under the sexual sun to help me write content is just part of the job.

Click the images below to read the corresponding blogs. They’re some of my personal favorites. And big thanks to Vermilion for having me along for this wild ride since the very beginning.
