Bring the ‘Hole In The Wall’ Home.
If you’ve ever lived in or visited Chicagoland, you probably know about the Hole In The Wall. It’s this unassuming little Italian joint in Northbrook outside the city, and it’s legendary. For good reason, too. Take one step inside and you can feel the warm welcome of a true neighborhood restaurant—the walls adorned with framed photos, the current menu written in marker on the wallboard twice a day (lunch and dinner, of course), and Frank G. schmoozing around to meet and greet every smiling face. And then, there’s the aroma.
Fresh, homemade marinara sauce—among other Italian favorites—simmered for hours and crafted using only a few simple ingredients. It’s the secret to many of the Hole In The Wall’s most beloved dishes, and now it’s available…AT COSTCO.
Bring the ‘Hole In The Wall’ home.
You read right. Frank G’s Hole In The Wall’s signature marinara is available in take-home two-packs, and I had the pleasure of working with the team at Conagra to write copy for the packaging and shippers, which you can see as in-store display in the photo above.
The design is simple and understated just like the restaurant itself. It lists the ingredients right on the front and has space for a simple, inviting message on the back. Here’s the copy we landed on:
From Our Neightborhood to Yours
15 tables. No reservations. Always packed. That’s how Francesco’s Hole in the Wall restaurant has been for decades, and it’s the authentic Italian spirit captured inside every jar of our signature pasta sauce.
So the next time you’re in Chicago, head over to Frank G’s to get a taste of what I’m talking about. Or better yet, do it the next time you’re at Costco. Thanks to Lori and the Conagra team for letting me pitch in. My lasagna has never tasted better.
