Delighting in De’Longhi

Once in a while, a new client comes along and I already own one of their products without even knowing it. It just happened with De’Longhi, which I’m as excited as a caffeinated squirrel to announce is now on the EBB client roster. Welcome to the club, you brilliant Italians, you.

De’Longhi is based in Treviso, Italy and is a global leader in high-quality, Italian-designed coffee and espresso machines, countertop kitchen appliances and home comfort products, including space heaters and portable air coolers. After more than a century of innovation, De’Longhi products are currently available in 123 countries, and the brand remains committed to creating products that bring convenience and style into every customer’s home to “make the everyday better.”

I already owned one of their space heaters (awesome product for those chilly Seattle days, BTW), but my work is on the brand’s espresso machine business. Now a proud owner of a De’Longhi Magnifica Evo fully automatic bean-to-cup espresso machine, I’m deep in the world of all things coffee.

From brand strategy work, press releases and in-store displays to paid social ads and fresh-brewed headlines aplenty, I love helping this massive global brand infuse some engaging personality to their communications. It can be tough—trust me, I get it—for international brands to loosen up and let their fun flags fly. That’s especially true for companies like De’Longhi with a long tradition and legacy of quality, craftsmanship and prestige. The thing is…you can still be all of those things. But if you want to percolate above the crowd these days, you have to communicate in consumer’s language.

Adding the Magnifica Evo to my countertop has made my life better. And I’m not just saying that to be a suck-up. I’m saying it because it’s true. I had no idea how good home-crafted coffee could taste and how EASY it could be to make all my favorite drinks. I’m a latte girl myself, and this machine fresh-grinds whole beans, froths my Ripple plant-based milk to perfection and brews my coffee to the exact strength I want—all with the touch of a button. It’s incredible, and I haven’t been more excited about an appliance since the June Oven came into my life back in 2020.
