Hi, I’m June.

11/02 2020

June is hungry. It constantly craves new ways to make your life easier. More fun. More flavorful. More delicious. It waits for you to get home so you can play together and unwind after a long day. It’s the bumper sticker that says, “My Other Car Is an Oven.” It’s the life of every party. It makes you look good, makes you smile, and makes you breakfast, lunch and dinner. It takes its tech seriously, but knows how to cook up a good time. It’s all good things, all in one. Everybody loves June because June makes life taste better.

I Heart June.

If you’ve spoken with me in the past few months, you’ve heard about June. June is the 12-in-1 countertop smart kitchen that makes home cooking so easy, so fast and so effing fun that I literally sound like a paid testimonial every time I talk about it. I became a bona fide June convert after my very first use (re: perfect eggs in a hole with no flipping!), and I feel infinitely lucky to have been part of the brand’s repositioning and 3rd generation launch.

Brand Vision and Personality

In a category that woefully over-indexes in coined, techie-sounding names (Breville, Tovala, Anova, W-Labs…you catch my drift), June can’t help but stand out. It’s a name with charisma, and we decided to use the June’s memorable name to our advantage. Whereas other brand sound like a factories, June feels like family. It represents springtime, sunshine and good vibes, so we built on this valuable asset as part of our positioning. And while June’s award-winning tech is definitely part of the story, we reached beyond listing features to give home cooks the uplifting, positive feelings of June all year round. Our tagline: Everybody Loves June. Because, well, it’s true.

Together with Chad Morgan and the entire June team, I helped pivot June’s me-too messaging approach to something more unique, approachable and lighthearted. June is an invitation and innovation to enjoy, and our brand voice is no different. Delight and charm merge with tech talk and kitchen confidence to create copy that speaks consumers’ language. We’re upbeat, encouraging and have an optimistic attitude that makes every moment delicious.

Website and Video

From the fully refreshed website to online advertising and more, June’s new marketing is fresh, playful, smart and engaging. I got to script the brand video (seen above), write the website copy and help with purchase bundle naming, among other things. Chad Morgan’s brilliant design work and the June team’s willingness to lean in to a new personality have made this website one of my all-time favorites, and it’s accepting preorders now!

So, What Are You Waiting For?

The pot to boil or your doorbell to ring? Enough of that. It’s time to expand your kitchens’ possibilities, leave limitations behind and have a helluva good time while you’re at it. June is how can you can create a craveable, satisfying 5-course meal without thinking twice. June is how you can perfectly fry bacon without babysitting the stove. June is how you can hard-boil an egg or cook spaghetti and meatballs without boiling a drop of water.

Trust me, this thing is worth every penny, especially during COVID when the world is cooking so much more at home. June makes cooking fun again, and I’ll bet you dinner that you’ll agree.
