This Brand Is Bananas, B.A.N.A.N.A.S.
My friends at Interact Brands know their way around a packaging project, and they really brought the goods when it came to Diana’s Bananas. This retro-styled refresh slaps with some serious personality. The colors are crisp and eye-catching. The type treatment is dreamy and delicious. And I’m absolutely head-over-peels to have had the chance to write the back-of-pack romance copy.
Exploring the Banana Avenues
With a brand a badass as Diana’s, it was important for us to strike the right chord with copy. We tried a nostalgic route…
A BITE DOWN MEMORY LANE
Nostalgia sure is sweet, especially when it comes in the form of a real frozen banana all wrapped up in one of life’s simplest pleasures: smooth, indulgent chocolate.
Diana’s Bananas are basically a summer day in a snack, and it’s a recipe we’ve been perfecting since we did our first dip back in 1987. No matter how old you are, what time it is or where you keep your cooler, our wholesome frozen treats are here to take you back to the best moments ever.
Then we went down a more indulgent path…
INDULGENT ON THE OUTSIDE. BANANAS ON THE INSIDE.
Picture a banana. It’s sweet. It’s creamy. If you didn’t know better, you’d swear something so tasty couldn’t possibly be good for you. Now, dip that mental image in rich, decadent chocolate and you’ll know exactly what’s inside this box.
Since 1987, Diana’s has been home to frozen treats made with real, simple ingredients you can feel great sharing with the whole family. As a snack. Or a dessert. Or maybe breakfast. No judgement.
Until we landed on a deliciously simple descriptive homage to the perfect pairing of chocolate and bananas…
Diana’s is down with upcycling.
Food waste is bananas, so Diana’s rescues and upcycles their fruit from some of Ecuador’s best sustainable farms. Diana’s is one of the few industry-leading brands that’s Upcycled Certified™, and I also go to write the little blurb above to let all the banana lovers out there know that they made a great choice.
Look at the looks…
An attitude of gratitude
Huge thanks to Interact for inviting me on this sweet tropical journey with you. I had a blast (and since then, I’ve had more chocolate-covered bananas than I care to admit on a public forum). The Peanut Butter Cup flavor is nuts, people.
