Valentine’s Day, Now In Technicolor
Fifteen years.
That’s how long I’ve been sending Valentine’s Day cards to my clients, collaborators, creative partners and friends. At this point, it’s less of a mailing and more of a personality trait. And this year, I went full love overload.
Because the world feels…a lot right now. Heavy. Scary. And I’ll just say it, depressing AF. So, I decided to respond the only way I know how: with an excessive amount of cuteness in the form of a Lisa Frank fever dream.

This year’s card is aggressively colorful. We’re talking rainbows, unicorns, cupcakes, sparkles, my cat Elvis barfing a rainbow (because obviously). It is, in short, exactly the kind of unfiltered happiness I wanted landing in mailboxes this February. No minimalism. No tasteful millennial beige. Just pure, unapologetic leeeeeeerve.
Top it off, I had custom jar openers made to give everyone something good to hold onto during these tough times. Or as my old ad school professor said, “You really GRIPPED my heart with this one.”
Every year, I tell myself I’ll keep it simple.
And every year, I do not keep it simple.
But sending these valentines has become one of my favorite traditions. It’s my small way of saying thank you—for the trust, the referrals, the brainstorms, the deadlines, the collaborations…the the magic. Yes, business can be serious. Deadlines are real. But why bother with any of it if you can’t have a sh*t ton of fun while you’re at it?
To everyone who’s been part of these last fifteen years: THANK YOU, and HAPPY V DAY! You make me feel like an otter holding hands with another otter. Or like a sprightly corgi. Or a happy lil’ hedgehog.
Now excuse me while I go clean rainbow glitter off my desk. Again. ✨
